Below are the final versions of plans from the engineer. We abandoned the
full plan due to lack of funds and implemented a much scaled back plan.

Hello-
Please find attached the plans for the building of a parking area for Kehilat
HaNahar (KHN), a Synagogue, located at 85 West Mechanic Street in New Hope PA.
It involves the grading of the property, installation of storm water management,
retaining walls, lighting and paving for over 50 spaces. We would like your
company to retain and manage any subcontractors required to complete the entire
project.
We would like to schedule a pre-bid meeting for all interested contractors on
Tuesday, April 20th at 9:30am. This is a competitive bid process and final,
sealed bids are due to me by COB on April 30th. Please look over the plans,
confirm their receipt, and let me know if you are interested in providing a bid
on this project. Note that the plans have not been given final approval. There
may be minor changes before building begins. Current versions of the plans can
be downloaded from http://stephenfox.info/khn_files.htm
In bidding this project there are a few conditions you need to be aware of:
- The project needs to be complete on or before the first of September
2010.
- The upper lot can be closed as soon as needed to begin work and can
remain closed throughout the process, although when the lower lot needs to
be entirely closed, it would be helpful to have some parking in the upper
lot at those times.
- The building will continue to be used throughout the summer. A day camp
occupies the space during the day 9:00 A.M.-
3:00 P.M, 5 days a week, June 28th-August
6th. They need access to the building, either by driving or walking
up the driveway. Additionally our staff will also need the same access. We
ask that the 3 parking spaces on the side of the building remain open
parking for our use. When the driveway cannot be driven on, we need to have
space in the parking area at street level to remain open for drop off and
pick up of the campers.
- Saturdays, May 15th, June 5th and 12th the building will be used by
large groups. It would be helpful to have as much parking available as
possible. A few days prior to the events we will need to know what the
situation will be.
- We have already paid for at least a portion of the lighting, we have a
credit of $9000 with Pemco Lighting Products Inc., 150 Pemco
Way, Wilmington DE 19804, 302 892 9000. The specified lighting will need to
be ordered from them.
-
According to Dan Peale, Engineering
Manager at Village II, bedrock was encountered as shallow as 3 feet below
ground surface in some locations during recent construction on their
property, which is adjacent to the KHN site. Please provide allowances for
this condition should it arise on our property.
-
As noted on the sheets, the existing gravel will be used
instead of new stone for sub-base. Please provide a per ton allowance for
new stone and/or soil if the existing materials prove to be inadequate.
